FAQs

LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER?

LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER?

I know that you might have lots of questions about permanent make up. To make it easy for you to find the answers to your questions I have put together a list of my most commonly asked questions.

  • Does it hurt?
You will be numbed for your treatment. It is completely bearable! And all totally worth it! Some people feel nothing at all and even drift off during the process.
  • How long will it last - is it forever?
So most permanent make up will be visible for 1-5 years on average however it will fade. If you looked under a microscope, it will always be there. As time passes and your permanent make up fades you can choose to have a colour boost. This is recommended 12-18months after your treatment, however it can be sooner if you wish.
  • How long will it take to heal?
On average around 5-7 days. You should not put any make up on the treated area for the first 5 days to prevent infection.
  • How many treatments will I need?
With all my treatments I include a free top up session between weeks 6-8 after your first treatment. This allows me to perfect your look, allow you to make any tweaks or add colour if needed. It’s advised to have at least two sessions to optimise your results.
  • Shall I wax or pluck my eyebrows before my treatment?
This would be advisable at least a week before your treatment as this would open pores on your eyebrows.
  • I have fillers/collagen injections - can I still have the treatment?
Yes, you can but it is advised to wait six weeks after your injections.
  • What do I need to avoid after my treatment?
With each treatment I give you a full aftercare leaflet with all the dos and don’ts. However, you should stay out of any saunas, sunbeds and swimming pools for at least 7 days. If you are due to go on holiday in the sun you need to allow 14 days after your treatment before the area is exposed, otherwise your treatment will fade very quickly!
  • One of the funniest questions I have been asked! Will you need to remove all my eyebrow hair?
NO! Absolutely not! I will be working with what you have so we can create as natural a look as possible. However, if you have little hair or none at all this isn’t a problem! I can get that fixed for you.
  • What is the most popular treatment?
Eyebrows are always top as they really help to frame everybody’s face. However, lip blush is now right up there!
  • Why do people choose permanent make up?
There are actually quite a few varied reasons why people choose to have permanent make up, I will list some reasons below. To save time applying each day Some may have sparse brows or lost hair due to illness Active people to stop make up running whilst doing sports activities Poor eyesight, some people avoid make up purely for this reason Sensitive eyes Allergies Anti-ageing-, brows and lip colour can make all the difference Over plucked eyebrows Some people just do not enjoy putting make up on or never feel it looks quite right. The list goes on.
  • What training have you had?
I chose my training very carefully and actually was on a waitlist for over one year! I chose Katy Jobbins a multi award winning make up artist and mentor. I travelled all the way down to East Sussex. There are received intensive 1-1 training verses a normal classroom environment. Katy has been in the industry for many years and knows all that needs to be known about Permanent make up. It was important to me to have the confidence when working on somebody’s face. Read more about my training here.
  • How long does it take
I would advise to allow up to two hours for your treatment, lip blush can be slightly longer.
